RECENT PROJECTS
Rachel Hartley trained at the English Gardening School based at the Chelsea Physic Garden in 2002 and has been designing gardens ever since.
Based in South London, Rachel focuses mainly on residential gardens, creating new ‘outdoor rooms’ for families and professionals.
Space is always at a premium, especially in London, so it’s often about maximising the space available. “I have enjoyed designing a variety of gardens over the years and relish the challenge of a new project.”
Whilst adhering to the client brief and taking on board their style, surrounding architecture and landscape, it is also important to consider practical considerations. I enjoy the buzz when a garden is completed, and the clients can enjoy their new ‘outdoor room’.

So for this front garden the clients wanted to totally clear their existing walls and paving and start again.
